Broadway 1602 Uptown Gallery presents a three artist exhibition titled “The Green Begins to Show” that will run through November 22, 2016. The exhibition showcases artworks by three female artists, Teresa Murak, Babette Mangolte and Lydia Okumura. The exhibition explores the response of female artists to the natural world in earth works, early eco-feminism and the exploration of the political allegories of landscape in the aftermath of the 1960s Land Art movement. “The Green Begins to Show” looks into artistic production outside the studio walls, and the radically new experimentation, mythologies and forms these artists used to engage with the natural world.
